Awards & Scholarships
Zonta Bendigo awards five education scholarships, an Achievement award for Indigenous Women & Girls and one community leadership award:
Education scholarships:
Zonta International (annual)
Young Women in Leadership - honours young women who demonstrate a commitment to leadership in public policy, government and volunteer organisations. Ages 16-19 years old. $1,500.
Winners of the local award are then nominated at a district and international level by their local club for a chance to receive further funds. (Bendigo winners have been successful at an international level in the past!)
Jane M Klausman Women in Business Scholarship - for undergraduate in Business Studies. Students must be enrolled in at least the second year of an undergraduate program through to the final year of a Master's program at the time the application is submitted. Applicants must still be in school at the time the scholarship funds are disbursed
University student. $1,000.

Bendigo Club (biennial)
Gwen Symons Memorial Scholarship - female senior secondary currently studying in year 10 who is succeeding academically. The scholarship is to support her to continue her Year 11 & 12 education. $1,000 p.a. for 2 years.*
Ann Horrocks STEM Scholarship - Encouraging young women to study in the critical fields of Maths, Engineering, Technology and Science. $1,000 p.a. for 2 years.*
*Upon evidence of satisfactory progress in the first year of the scholarship.
Bendigo Club (annual)
Heather Winderlich Award - Outstanding Nursing student at La Trobe University. The successful recipient is nominated by the School and the student is awarded a certificate at the La Trobe Awards evening. $1,000.
Community Leadership Award:
Women of Achievement Award
Recognises women who have demonstrated a commitment to leadership in their community. As a result of her service, the community is a better place to live.
Achievement Award:
Zonta Bendigo Indigenous Women & Girls Achievement Award
This award will celebrate the achievements of nominees and encourage them to continue to explore, grow their skills and connect to their community. The award focuses across a broad range of possibilities, such as sport, education, community, service, health, STEMS. We present this award with the support of our community partner BDAC.

Our International Women's Day Dinner is a key event on the Bendigo calendar since 1991. This evening is a celebration and showcase of the amazing and dedicated women within our community. This event is the only fundraiser in the year our club holds to raise the scholarship and award funds received by our recipients.
