Zonta Breast Care Cushions

The Zonta Breast Care Cushion provides support and comfort to women who have undergone breast surgery, usually breast cancer patients, with their rehabilitation.  The breast cushion can be tucked under the arm to relieve pressure when sleeping or that of a seatbelt; it doubles as a neck pillow when travelling.

Cushions are distributed through the McGrath Breast Care Nurses at St John of God hospital, Bendigo Health and Echuca Breast Screen.  Surplus cushions are provided to the Zonta Breast Care cushion co-ordinator in Melbourne for delivery to city hospitals.

The cushions are hand made by our dedicated members along with local refugee community involvement.  The Zonta Club of Bendigo sources and provides all the materials. They are a gift to assist with making recovery more comfortable.

To date the Bendigo club has sewn approximately 1400 cushions. (March 2020)
