Local Service Projects

Zonta Club of Bendigo supports local groups and programs that focus on issues affecting the lives of women such as:

Women's refuge - Annie North Inc -Women's refuge and Domestic Violence Service

Centre for Non Violence -  ongoing supply of toiletry care packs.

CASA - Support with PR for sexual assault services offered.

Tarrengower Women's Prison - Supply of breast cushion sewing project materials and return-to-work outfits.

HAVEN: Home Safe - Books, toys and emergency toiletry supplies.

Breast Screen Victoria - assistance with the wig library and Breast cushions.

JOBS with a DIFFERENCE - showcasing careers with a difference for young women and partnering with local employment agencies.

GBAFV- Held annual on the 25th of November, support in the march against domestic violence.

Dragon's Abreast - supporting the local Bendigo team.

Drought Relief - support for provision of goods and services to women on the land.

Self Esteem programs - for our local Koori young women.

Scholarships- for nursing and secondary school students.

Women's Health Loddon Mallee- donation of period panties and menstrual cups

Christmas Gifts- collecting gifts for organisations that distribute locally at Christmas. 

District Service Projects

Zonta Birthing Kits

Zonta Birthing Kits provide for a clean and safe birthing environment for women without access to professional medical care.

The lives of many women and babies in third world countries have been saved through this project.

The kits are basic with 6 items. A plastic sheet, soap, 2 gloves, sterile scalpel blade, 3 cords and 5 gauze squares.

These items are assembled into a small bag at an annual Assembly Day.

 The birthing kit addresses the 7 cleans needed for a safe delivery.
Clean birth site, clean hands, clean ties, clean cut, clean eyes, clean umbilical cord and clean perineum.

Zonta Breast Care Cushions

The Zonta Breast Care Cushion provides support and comfort to women that have undergone breast surgery, usually breast cancer patients within their rehabilitation.

International Service Projects

Zonta International programs include:

Zonta International Service - sustainable self-help programs, technical, health initiatives and other assistance for women in developing nations.

ZISVAW (Zonta International Srategies to Prevent Violence Against Women) - prevention, awareness, education and innovative solutions to eliminate violence against women and children.

Scholarships - in Business, Aerospace related PhD's, and for Young Women in Public Affairs.

Zonta International is affiliated with the United Nations.
